Amazon now hears your shoppers
And feeds Amazon suggestions
Amazon launched Bee Frontier on Oct 15 and announced Bee Eclipse for later.
Frontier is a wrist or clip wearable. It costs $74.99, runs up to 7 days on a charge, is IP67, and is on sale now on Amazon.
Eclipse costs $99.99 and attaches magnetically to a phone. Amazon says its battery lasts over 21 days. It is listed as coming soon, with no ship date.
Both devices turn conversations, when switched on, into summaries and to-dos.
The old way a need surfaced was a search. A shopper remembered a problem, opened Amazon, and typed it in.
A mention in conversation can now surface first. If a shopper says they need dish soap, a product recommendation can follow on the Amazon homepage or in the Bee app.
That shopping loop is paid. Alexa+ and the Amazon shopping suggestions sit in Bee Pro at $11.99 a month or $99.99 a year, with a 30-day trial. They are opt-in. The free tier remembers just 14 days.
For a brand, that changes where discovery starts. Your listing still has to answer the question, but the question may now come from a conversation your customer had away from a screen.
The consent question is still open. Jeff Williams, a former AWS security engineer, told GeekWire that whether people nearby who get recorded can consent is still unresolved.
Watch your reviews and questions this quarter. The plain words shoppers use when they talk about a problem are the words your title, bullets and images need to answer.
