Amazon just laid off part of the team that fixes seller accounts. ONE MONTH before Black Friday.

Reuters reported that fewer than 1,000 jobs were affected, mostly in Amazon’s Stores business, including customer service and selling partner services.

I've seen what losing Amazon support can mean for a brand.

One of our clients does $50M a year with Amazon. Earlier this year, their vendor manager was laid off and never replaced.

Cases sat open for weeks. They couldn't get a call back.

That client sells directly to Amazon. Brands selling through Amazon's marketplace face their own support hurdles.

Some can't even open a support case without explaining the problem to an AI chatbot first. Getting through that conversation doesn't mean the listing is back up or the inventory is available to sell.

Now picture your best-selling product getting flagged overnight on Black Friday. Sales stop while you wait for help.

I'd do three things before peak:

1. Check account health and your best-selling listings every day.

2. Save every case ID and screenshot every support conversation. Keep the full history in one place.

3. Confirm your escalation path this week. Know who to contact when a case stalls.

Plan your Q4 like nobody at Amazon is coming to help.
