Got my red badge!
I officially hit 10 years at Amazon on August 8, and I keep coming back to this photo.
Years ago, I intentionally braided my hair before taking it. At the time, it felt like a small act of defiance against the idea that Black men with natural hairstyles had to change how they showed up to succeed in corporate spaces.
Since then, the journey has taken me from Amazon Business to Just Walk Out to Prime Air. Earlier this year, I was laid off and had to consider the very real possibility that my Amazon story had ended.
It hadn’t.
Ten years later, I’m still here, still building, and still showing up as myself.
