A best seller lost my sale.
And it never knew why.
My dog has a hot spot right now. Bald patch near his back legs, and he won't stop licking it. So I searched Amazon like any dog owner would.
Five results came up. Two said "hot spot" big on the image, and those were the only two I looked at. I hadn't checked price, reviews or sales yet.
The one I skipped is tagged Best Seller with 10K+ bought in the past month. Its image says "3-Way Ointment."
It might work great on a hot spot. It wasn't telling me in my face, so it didn't get my business.
Nobody trusts Amazon. My wife doesn't. Shoppers scan the images for their own words before they believe anything else on the page.
So what goes on the hero?
1. Three big callouts beat six small ones.
2. Each one has to be a real USP with real search volume behind it. A value prop nobody searches for is wasted space up front.
You don't have to cram everything onto the hero for Alexa Shopping either. Amazon's AI reads the text on the images further down the stack too, so the rest can live there.
Try this today: pull the top search terms for your hero ASIN, pick the three with the most volume that your product can back up, and put those exact words on the image, big.
