Most sellers think a "boring" product can't build a brand. That belief is getting expensive.

A few years ago, almost nobody searched a brand name to buy a basic water bottle. Today most shoppers do, and they're doing it in other categories too.

Here is the takeaway: shoppers now go looking for a brand by name, even for everyday products. If your listing is just a generic item with a logo, you give them nothing to remember or return to.

So here is one thing to do this week. Look at your product page and ask what a customer would type into search to find you again. If the answer is nothing, that is your branding gap.

Branding is more than a logo. It is the reason a customer remembers you and comes back.

Protecting that reputation matters too. Your reviews and catalog health are part of what shoppers see when they search your name, so keep them clean.
