Your Amazon ops have three levels. Most brands are stuck on one.
Here's how to know which level you're actually at.
Not which level you think you're at. Which level you're actually at.
1️⃣ Level 1: You get a notification.
Your ASIN gets suppressed. A Slack alert fires. Someone sees it eventually and figures out what to do next.
This is where most brands live. Even ones with "active management." The human is still the engine.
2️⃣ Level 2: The notification triggers a task.
Suppressed ASIN fires an alert. That alert automatically opens a support case or creates a task with the right SOP attached. The human still resolves it, but the system does the routing.
A lot of sellers think they're here because they have tools and alerts.
But if a human is still deciding what to do next, you're Level 1 with better notifications.
3️⃣ Level 3: The system investigates and resolves.
An ASIN goes down. The system detects root cause, pulls the relevant account data, opens the case, drafts the response, and escalates only when it needs a human decision.
This is where inventory predictions get made before stockouts happen. Where listing issues get caught and fixed before you even see them.
Most brands running $1M-$10M on Amazon have the tools for Level 2. Very few are operating there. Almost none are touching Level 3.
The gap between Level 1 and Level 2 is process. The gap between Level 2 and Level 3 is how well your ops are built.
Both are closeable. But you can't close them if you don't know which level you're starting from.
Honest question: if your main account manager took a week off with no notice, which level would your Amazon ops actually run at?
