In 2023, I planned to take a little time off. But we all know that’s not really my strong suit.
What began as an advisory role at Fanatics, a dream company for a massive sports fan, quickly became something much more meaningful. Once I saw the extraordinary assets the company brings to brands and fans, and met the people behind this massive Sports operation, I couldn’t resist getting more involved. I joined full time as Chief Revenue Officer of Fanatics Advertising.
Two years, countless “pinch me” sporting experiences, and an incredible team build later, I’m stepping back into the Advisor role. With Kevin Longo and Torie Morris leading the team, I feel great about handing over the day-to-day reins and excited to stay involved.
The Fanatics experience has been nothing short of incredible. We’ve built landmark partnerships with AT&T, American Express, and Afterpay, all designed to enhance the fan experience. And who could forget Fanatics Fest (and especially Oakley Meta)! Seeing the brand and fan experiences come to life by the incredible teams behind the extravaganza, has been one of the great highlights of my career.
What I’m proudest of, though, is the team we’ve built. They’re talented, ambitious, creative, and more than capable of taking this business into its next chapter. Lucky me. I have had the great privilege of working with many of them twice, and I can't express how grateful I am that they believed in the vision.
Thank you to everyone who made these 2+ years so meaningful, especially our team, partners, and colleagues across Fanatics.
As for that time off I originally planned? I’m finally making room for some of it. First up is South America with friends to celebrate our 50th year around the sun, followed by two-and-a-half weeks in Vietnam with my dad to celebrate his 80th. I’m also continuing my academic studies, exploring the impact of having five generations in the workplace at once.
A little more time for the people I love, the places I’ve wanted to explore, and the questions that have always made me curious.
Of course, with UCLA at 5-0, the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS, Angel City Football Club in the playoffs, and plenty of Los Angeles Rams home games ahead, some things won’t change.
I’ll see you at the game (and, of course, at Ad Prom)
