Google shipped Gemini 4 Argon today.
The price window closes Nov 30.
Gemini 4 Argon is Google's new frontier model, and it's live globally. Google is aiming it at coding, legal and finance work, and cyber defense.
The API price is $2 per 1M input tokens and $10 per 1M output tokens. Cached input is 95% off. After Nov 30 it goes to $4 and $20.
Until now, testing a new model on real catalog work meant paying full price for every experiment. For the next seven weeks, Google is charging half.
If you run a brand or an ecommerce business, here's where I'd spend that window:
1. Generate and score listing and ad copy variants in bulk.
2. Put a long set of product pages, reviews or policies into one run. Google's API has a 1M unified input-output token limit, and output alone now goes up to 1M, from 64K.
3. Pull notes from long videos, like competitor or customer review videos. Google reports 91.7% on LVBench, a long-video test.
Two more things shoppers and operators will run into. Pro and Ultra subscribers get Argon in AI Mode in Search, so some product research answers now come from this model. And the Gemini app now connects to 40+ apps, including Shopify.
On Google's own numbers, Argon scores 51.3 on Zapier's AutomationBench for business workflows. The next model in Google's table scores 42.5. It trails on two coding tests, FrontierSWE and Terminal-Bench. These are Google-reported results, so test it on your own work before you switch anything.
Pick one job you'd run every week and try it before Nov 30.
