All my life I have been told I'm too much.

That I'm too crazy.

That I'm too inexperienced.

That I'm dreaming too big.

I still remember the day I wanted to quit my day job.

I confided in a mentor whom I really looked up to.

To my surprise, he responded with a blank face,

"Isn't this TOO risky? You know that most startups fail right?"

I was heartbroken.

I thought that of all people, my mentor would be the one to support me.

But what I have come to realise is that the people who are too scared to bet on themselves are those who are afraid to dream.

The funny thing is... I'm so glad that I was told that I can't.

Because that only fuels me to prove that I can.

Today, I own it!

I own being too passionate.

I own being too ambitious.

I own being too loud about the things I believe in.

I own dreaming bigger than what others think is possible.

Because the very things people once told me to tone down are the things that got me to where I am today, building my own company with Close With Copy

So here's my message for you.

Only you get to define your future, not anyone else.

You are perfect just the way you are. 💛
