I'm gonna say something controversial right now...
I love when my boss is in.
I told you it was going to be controversial.
Now this might be a ‘social girl’ thing or maybe it’s just a ‘Sophie Milham’ thing? But for the past 3 years of working with Aimee Smale I think everyone can see that I very much enjoy capturing content along side her (I promise I’m not just saying this for a (Christmas bonus)
At the beginning stages of my job, when I was part time, I would utilise those 2 days in office with her as much as I could. Walking in with my endless notes page worth of random TikTok ideas. Then it was the trips I’d look forward to, when we’d do our 3/4 days in whatever location to shoot Odd Muse campaigns. There was even a point, I would put in one hour slots into her calendar weekly just for some ‘Aimee x Sophie Time’ (good for the soul)
Because it wasn’t your usual social team that were dedicated to that one role 40 hours a week, it was me and a founder. A founder that had MANY other (probably more important) things to do than just film lip sync videos. So when she did dedicate her time to me, I would absolutely RINSE it.
And to no surprise, that characteristic of mine has bled right into my new role too.
Even more so when the amount of work I do really depends if I am with Aimee or not.
For example, last week Aimee made the decision on Friday to fly me to her on Monday for a shoot that was on Wednesday. I think it’s safe to say she is very much a type B boss but of course I went because well “I love when my boss is in”.
We managed to cover all things partnerships, captured content for her socials, filmed over 50 videos for Odd Muse channels, created paid ads and even vlogged it all for the Pretty Busy Youtube…vlog coming in a few weeks.
I have no idea if this makes me sounds like someone who loves to keep busy, loves her job too much or is a Aimee Smale super fan but if we say all then maybe that bonus will come lol I can already see Aimee rolling her eyes reading this.
But surely there’s got to be some people out there who also loves when their bosses are in the office…right???
