Amazon sellers may be overlooking one of the biggest growth levers already sitting inside their business.

I had a great conversation with Gaving Cheung at Amazon Accelerate 2026 about new product development.

Gavin made an important point.

You do not have to invent an entirely new product to create something valuable.

Products that already exist continue to evolve because companies find ways to make them better. They improve features, solve problems differently, and create more value for the customer.

That led into something I consistently tell established Amazon sellers.

There are two major levers you can pull for expansion.

You can expand into new markets.

Or you can expand what you are already doing through new products.

For an established seller, I think the second lever deserves a lot of attention.

If you already understand your customer, have distribution, know how to launch, and have an existing product line, ask yourself what else you can develop for that same market.

Launching 3, 5, or 10 strategically developed products next year can potentially create millions of dollars in incremental growth depending on the size and performance of the business.

But that does not mean launching random SKUs.

Study the demand.

Understand your customer.

Look at what is already working.

Identify where existing products can be improved.

Then build intentionally.

That is why I was excited to see new product development being featured at Amazon Accelerate 2026.

Growth does not always require finding an entirely new market.

Sometimes the biggest opportunity is getting better at serving the market you already have.
