Can you buy an agency in two weeks?

Yes.

Here's how I did it.

Last Friday was one year since AMZ Advisers acquired Reach Social Commerce, a TikTok Shop agency.

The deal was off-market. I found it through cold outreach on LinkedIn.

It was complicated.

There were two partners: one wanted out, and the other, Jackie, wanted to stay and keep running the business.

Another buyer had already signed an LOI, but they never sent the money, and their exclusivity had expired.

The selling partner said hed go with whoever Jackie thought was the best partner to take the company forward.

So my job was to convince Jackie.

We matched the existing offer on price and terms, so we didn't pay a dollar more.

We won because Jackie wanted to work with us and because we showed we could close and had the money ready.

When you're buying, certainty beats price every time.

One thing we got wrong:

With due diligence squeezed into two weeks, we did no integration planning.

We also closed at the start of Q4, the busiest season for TikTok and Amazon sellers, so all our attention went to clients.

Paid ads, email marketing, referrals and our partnership program didnt launch until Q1. That delay was my fault, and it cost us a full quarter.

Even with that delay here are the results one year in:

-Client base doubled

-Revenue doubled

-4x improvement on EBITDA multiple

You make your money when you buy.

If you've bought a business, what's one thing you wish you'd planned before closing?
