The reason I wrote The Balance Cure started with frustration.

After I moved to the U.S., I wanted to find a good book in English that explained Traditional Chinese Medicine in a way an everyday reader could understand.

I bought two books.

The content was very good.

But the language was difficult.

The terminology was so technical that even though Chinese is my first language, I could immediately understand why many American readers would struggle to finish them.

That stayed with me.

Over the years, I kept thinking: there should be a book about TCM that is easier to understand.

A book that explains this beautiful ancient healing wisdom in plain language.

A book that gives readers something useful they can actually apply in daily life.

It took me a long time to write The Balance Cure.

I was building Karviva at the same time, and running a company leaves very little extra time.

But this book was never just another project for me.

It came from a real passion to help more people understand a tradition that shaped how I think about food, health and the body.

I’m grateful to Nonfiction Authors Association & Writers Conference for giving me the opportunity to share more about why I wrote it.
