Nearly two years of video calls. Learning about how to navigate the challenges of running a small business as a sole proprietor. Debugging lots of issues together. And I finally got to meet Charlene Anderson IRL at Accelerate!
Char and I were paired by random assignment through our seller shadowing program, where Amazonians go deep with sellers on their businesses. I got lucky. Char held nothing back, walking our support paths while I watched, flagging every friction point, and helping me turn her frustrations into real improvements for all of our selling partners. And along the way I got to know Char beyond the business - her passion for crafting, how her store enables her to live where she wants and travel the world, and how kind and generous she is. She also decided I needed to learn to knit! Two years in, and she hasn't given up on me yet. When we met in person, she showed up with a gift of beautiful yarn and new knitting needles. My progress so far? Let’s just say the yarn is very patient too.
Grateful for a job where I get to support entrepreneurs like Char and make real friendships along the way.
