The session ends. The learning continues.

In learning design, we put considerable thought into what happens during a session. The transition back to real-practice deserves just as much attention.

For peer learning, I like four simple prompts:

💭 Reflect: What is one insight I want to take forward?

📅 Commit: What will I do, and by when?

🌱 Practice: Where will I apply it in my daily work?

🤝 Reconnect: What happened, what got in the way, and what will I adjust?

“I’ll communicate better” is difficult to act on.

“In my next three team meetings, I’ll pause and invite another perspective before offering my own” gives someone a clear opportunity to practice.

That also changes the next conversation. Alongside “What did you learn?” we can ask, “What happened when you tried it?”

As learning leaders, we can make space for reflection, help people choose a manageable action, and build in a check-in.
