I just got back from my third Amazon Creator Summit. I was having coffee this morning with a former coworker who asked about the event, which led her to ask how I feel about how much my job has changed over the years.

As I was answering her, I realized it actually hasn’t changed that much. At the core, my career has always been about helping great creative get seen and translating brands into storytelling that resonates with audiences.

At HBO, that meant building excitement around shows and films, whether it was introducing people to their new favorite show or getting fans hyped for the final season of Game of Thrones.

At TikTok, it meant working with film studios, streaming services and production companies to master the art of short-form content, while also providing creators opportunities to walk red carpets and host livestreams with celebrity talent.

And now at Amazon, it means developing opportunities for creators to monetize their content and building brand activations that creators actually want to engage with and share with their audiences.

The screen has changed from the big screen to the small screen to the one in our hands, but at the core, I’m still doing the same thing.
