If I woke up brand new to AI tomorrow, and wanted to build my first agent by Friday here's exactly what I would do.
I was on Yahoo Finance's Power Players a few weeks back, where Brian Sozzi asked how a total beginner (his mom, specifically) would build their first AI agent.
The mistake a lot of us make in the beginning is treating the first prompt like a spec, an agent that runs at 9:17 every morning and summarizes the calendar. For most people, the better move is to open Claude Code or ChatGPT, switch to dictation, complain about a problem for two minutes, and end with "interview me before you build anything."
