Everyone knows a business that sold for 8× EBITDA.

Usually in a different sector.

At a different size.

With completely different numbers. 😂

A good valuation isn’t based on what somebody else got.

It comes down to the quality of the business in front of you:

Recurring revenue.

Customer concentration.

Management depth.

Growth assumptions.

Working capital and compliance.

And how dependent the company is on the owner.

The multiple is the result. Not the starting point.

The founders who get the best outcomes are usually the ones who prepare early, long before they’re sitting across the table from a buyer.
