I travel A LOT for work.
At some point I realized most of my hobbies needed to be things I could pick up and put down in 30 minute windows because I was basically in a different city every week.
For a while, that meant decompressing after work by playing video games. But after a while, that got really boring.
I had also been writing a weekly internal email called Feldman Friday Musings, mostly taking things I was seeing and trying to make sense of what they might mean.
So a few weeks ago, I decided to reinvest that time playing video games and put it into a new hobby, writing a newsletter.
I’ve now published my first five editions of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 and today Omnicom Media just promoted it on their LinkedIn. Pretty surreal!
There really wasn’t a grand plan here. I realized that I enjoy writing, I clearly have a lot of ideas, and I had a bunch of little 30 minute windows in hotels, airports and on the road that I wanted to make matter.
Very grateful to everyone who has read one, subscribed, sent me a note, disagreed with something, or has been along for the ride.
This one feels pretty cool!
