This was the biggest announcement of the week - Amazon is launching their own MCP called "Amazon Selling Partner plugin for AI agents”.
It was about time Amazon launched an MCP, but the grumbling from Accelerate attendees was around:
- Giving sensitive information to Amazon via the MCP … do sellers want Amazon to have their COGS?
- Trust in the Amazon MCP - will it give genuinely unbiased recommendations?
- Will the Amazon MCP experience will be just as inconsistent as Seller Assistant?
I am excited about a native connector to Amazon data, but there is still a lot of uncertainty around the implementation.
