Salamat sa mga Pilipinong bayaning puyat

To my non-Filipino friends:

That means, “Thank you to the Filipino heroes who stay up all night.”

Working US hours in the Philippines comes with a real cost

When you say

We need you on our hours

You’re asking someone to rearrange

their entire life around your business

They work while their family sleeps

They answer the emails

They fix the problems

Then the sun comes up

Their family starts breakfast

Their kids start their day

And they go to sleep

That’s the part people don’t see

The missed dinners

The missed weekends

Sleeping through the afternoon

Building your entire life around a clock on the other side of the planet

And they still show up

Sharp

Reliable

Ready to solve the next problem

I’ve worked with Filipino talent for more than 6 years

And this still gets me

You didn’t just hire somebody in the Philippines

That person may have rearranged their entire life to help your business run

That deserves more than a paycheck

Pay them fairly

Respect their time

Recognize the sacrifice

And say thank you

If you have a Filipino team member working US hours

Message them today

Not because it’s employee appreciation day

Because they earned it

To every Filipino working while the rest of the country sleeps

Mabuhay kayo

Maraming salamat po
