Amazon just renamed the media game

At unBoxed 2026, Amazon Ads Partners unveiled ๐—”๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜‡๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—”๐—ฑ๐˜€ ๐—”๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜, folding sponsored ads, Display/Video/Audio, and a brand-new ๐™๐™ช๐™ก๐™ก-๐™๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ก ๐˜พ๐™–๐™ข๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ž๐™œ๐™ฃ๐™จ type into one AI-first buying experience. The headline: advertisers hand over budget, products, and creative โ€” Amazon's agentic AI plans, executes, and optimizes across streaming TV, video, display, and sponsored ads in a single campaign, with signals flowing between formats so upper-funnel spend actually lifts lower-funnel performance.

Then there's DVA+ which consolidates Sponsored Display, Sponsored TV, and programmatic into one simplified buy โ€” goal in, budget in, AI out. Advertisers who want the old manual levers still get "advanced settings," but the default is agentic.

Two things stand out to us:

1๏ธโƒฃ This is Amazon formalizing what we've been saying on the pod for a year: retail media is moving from "self-serve platform" to "AI account manager." The conversational layer isn't a chatbot bolted onto DSP โ€” it's becoming the primary interface for media planning, targeting, and analytics.

2๏ธโƒฃ The stat Amazon is leading with โ€” natural-language targeting driving 25%+ more unique customers at 10%+ lower CPMs โ€” is the real story. If that holds at scale, it's not a UX upgrade, it's a performance story that CFOs will notice.

Full-Funnel Campaigns is live now for all US advertisers. DVA+ rolls out late October. Worth watching whether agency trading desks lean in or push back on ceding this much control to the algorithm.
