Many Amazon vendors feedback that the AVN process is challenging, time consuming

Many Amazon vendors feedback that the AVN process is challenging, time consuming and unsuccessful.
Which normally means they've conceded margin that' been a kicker to the P&L.
I used to think there was a link between longer negotiations and better outcomes. If anything, the longer it dragged on, the less profitable the FY result tended to be for the vendor.
Which goes against the hold out strategy.
So that means time is no longer the leverage we think it is...preparation is.
The vendors who come out better aren't the ones who wait the longest...instead they're the ones who walk in with..
➡️ A modelled walk away point, agreed internally before the first meeting
➡️ The £ impact of each ask and wether it's worth it
➡️ An escalation routefor when the conversation gets stuck
All of it is done before the AVN starts, not during the negotiation.
How long did your last AVN take, and did the length change the outcome?
