Amazon just announced a bunch of new tools aimed at ONLY thing sellers should care about: PROFIT.
The biggest updates from Day 3 of Amazon Accelerate:
1. PROFIT ANALYTICS
Amazon is pulling revenue and costs across advertising, fulfillment, refunds and returns into one place.
Sellers can drill down product by product to see where margin is getting eaten up and where there may be room to improve.
2. SCENARIO MODELING
Sellers will be able to model decisions before making them.
Change a price. Make an inventory decision. See how it could affect margin before you actually pull the trigger.
3. BETTER INVENTORY VISIBILITY
Amazon is giving sellers a clearer view of where inventory is and when it will actually be available to customers.
That should make it easier to catch delays and inventory problems before they become sales problems.
4. AI-POWERED SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING
The system can flag inventory risks and recommend how many units should move, where they should go and when they need to ship.
I like this direction a LOT.
We start Amazon audits at the SKU-level P&L for a reason.
Topline sales can look great while individual products are getting crushed by ad spend, fees, fulfillment or returns.
Amazon is giving sellers more tools to see that and make decisions at the product level.
Use them to figure out which SKUs actually make money. Then put more budget behind those.
