I ranked 19th! 🎉
I know that doesn't sound like much said out loud. But it's 19th in Technology for Marketing's Top 30 Marketing Influencers 2026, and the best part is I still don't know who nominated me.
The event itself was worth the trip. Jenna Kamal hosted an extremely engaging fireside chat with Nishma Patel Robb 🪩⚡️, last year's winner, where they discussed the impact of AI on content.
I also got to meet some amazing people, thanks to Angélique Evrard, CFCIM, who brought all the nominees together. That woman is a ball of positive energy, and an absolute delight to be around! ✨
It wasn't an easy one to get to. I broke my foot last Friday, so I'm still in a lot of pain and wearing a boot. That meant two Ubers, over an hour each way, and I get sleepy in cars, so I arrived with very low energy.
If you know me, you know that I'm anything but low energy!
I went anyway because I wanted to meet the other nominees. And, obviously, take the photos.
As I hobbled up to collect the award, Jenna said "Wow, that's commitment!"
And I thought, yeah, she's right. I turned up as a fairly low energy version of myself and I'd been judging myself for it all day. She made me realise that I should give myself credit for being there at all!
That's what you don't see behind a nice photo. The four hours in traffic, the aching foot, and turning up as whatever version of yourself you've got that day.
