I learned this about 25 years ago in a revelationary training I booked for the busienss I was working in at the time.
I remember I took a huge risk and blew the training budget on something ALL about mindset, attitude and motivation- cancelling all sales, marketing and event training!
It blew our minds and started a tidal wave of change in the business.
We had been recruiting for entirely the wrong things and training the wrong things.
Becuse you can have all the skills, qualifications and experience on paper …..
But if your attitude, motivation and values are not aligned then you are not the employee for that business.
I have based all my work on it since and this is a wonderful reminder of where I started many years ago.
Also- that risks are worth taking!
