"How good are you at creating and converting digital demand?"

"How good are you at creating and converting digital demand?"
Yesterday I had the chance to pose this question to my panel of speakers and to an audience of manufacturers and retailers at Groceryshop.
Every week we see retailers and manufacturers issuing financial results clearly showing that digital channels are now their primary driver of business growth.
Manufacturers that have the ability to create and convert digital demand are gaining share, sales and customers.
Manufacturers that lack the prerequisite digital capabilities are losing growth, losing share and losing customers.
Digital Commerce Global's data shows the clear value that having leading digital commerce capabilities can create for manufacturers. The swing between the Haves and the Have Nots when it comes to digital capability is huge.
Which is why I believe that this question, "How good are you at creating and converting digital demand?" is probably the most important one that any manufacturer can be asking themselves right now.
I had the chance to put this, and a few other questions, to my amazing panel: Arthur Sylvestre, Karen Satterlie, Sara Ahmed Holman and Andrew Lederman, in a discussion that covered;
π Evolving Shopper Journeys
π Breaking Down Internal Silos
π Optimising Across 4 Product Shelves (Physical, Digital, Social & Agentic)
π Organisational Alignment & Communication
π What manufacturers can learn from watching seven-year-olds play football
π The differences between how legacy & digitally native brands approach product discovery and customer conversion
π The importance of speaking a common language
Thank you to everyone who came to see the session, and to my amazing panellists for their open and honest insights. Thanks also to Rocquan Lucas and the GroceryShop team for the opportunity to lead such a wonderful session.
