I was finishing up putting a Mezuzah at a friend’s office.
I called an Uber. Waited a few minutes. Nothing.
Called a Lyft. Waited a few more minutes. Still nothing.
So I decided to just start walking.
A few minutes into the walk, I hear someone call my name.
It was Jake Sibley
We had never met before, but he told me he had seen my content online.
So naturally, I asked: “Are you Jewish?”
He said yes.
I said, “Let’s wrap.”
He said he’d love to.
As I was explaining Tefillin and the prayer to his non-Jewish coworker, it hit me:
Why was I walking in the first place?
If the Uber had come, I never would’ve met Jake.
If the Lyft had come, I never would’ve met Jake.
But they didn’t.
And because they didn’t, I ended up exactly where Hashem wanted me to be.
