How many security breaches does it take before you stop trusting a vendor?

For us, apparently three.

We’ve been a JustCall customer for years. Over the last two months, that relationship has deteriorated fast.

It started when thousands of unauthorized text messages were sent using phone numbers assigned to our account.

We knew something was wrong because we suddenly received 5,000+ “STOP” replies from people we had never contacted.

At first, the explanation was vague: upstream providers, carrier-level issues, etc.

Then it happened again.

And again.

Eventually, JustCall confirmed that one of their service providers had been compromised and our phone numbers were used to send unauthorized SMS messages.

That matters.

Phone numbers are business assets. If thousands of people receive unsolicited messages appearing to come from your numbers, they report them, block them, and opt out.

We asked JustCall to explain what happened, prove our phone numbers were still healthy, and make us whole.

Instead, they wanted us to document employee time, invoices, and financial losses before doing anything to make the situation right.

But the bigger issue was phone-number reputation.

We repeatedly asked JustCall for reports showing whether our numbers had been damaged.

We were told those reports weren’t available.

We were also repeatedly assured that our numbers were “in good standing” and that there had been no impact to their reputation or deliverability.

Then this week, one of our employees contacted JustCall Support and asked them to do a routine check of our numbers.

They did.

Without any difficulty.

Here’s where trust starts to break down:

We asked JustCall for this information repeatedly.

We were told they couldn’t provide it.

We were told our numbers were healthy.

Then their own support team produced a reputation report showing that nearly two-thirds of them are not.

That’s the kind of contradiction that makes it very hard to keep trusting a vendor.

JustCall eventually offered us a credit toward our renewal.

Then we received the reputation report from JustCall Support.

At that point, the issue is bigger than compensation.

It's a question of whether we should continue trusting JustCall with one of our company’s most important communication systems.

So we’re looking to JustCancel.

If you use a VOIP phone / communications platform that you genuinely recommend, I’d like to hear about it.

We need:

Strong HubSpot integration

Calling + SMS

50+ phone numbers

Ideally WhatsApp integration

Strong caller reputation / spam monitoring

Serious security and compliance controls

AI voice capabilities would be a plus

What are you using?
