If I was a VP of ecom for a DTC brand who wanted to FAIL on TikTok Shop in 30 days, here's exactly what I'd do:
1. Skip Amazon. Go straight to TikTok and hope the momentum carries you. By the time people search your brand on Amazon to see if you're legit, there's nothing there to convert them.
2. Put whoever's already on payroll in charge. Your creative person, your media buyer, your Amazon guy. Doesn't matter that none of them have run a TikTok Shop before.
3. Send 10 or 20 samples without putting spend behind them. Get a tiny sales bump, decide the platform doesn't work, and quit before it ever had a shot.
4. Don't recruit affiliates, don't manage the ones you have, and don't bother tracking what's converting. Just hope it figures itself out.
5. Ignore your inventory. When a video pops off with nothing in stock behind it, you sell out, your ranking tanks, and you're dead exactly when you should be scaling.
