a lot of this job is doing things manually that your software could already do for you. you build the workaround, you get used to it, and eighteen months later someone mentions the button that's been there the whole time.
it's not me being stupid, or careless (I don't think...)
release notes land in an inbox with 200 unread emails, platforms ship faster than any of us can absorb, and there's no point in the week where you sit down and go "right, what can this thing do now?"
so I stopped assuming I'd pick it up by osmosis and started putting the time in the diary instead.
it's the same logic I apply to everything else in this job. if it doesn't have a date on it, it doesn't happen.
which is why I'm going to HubSpot's Fall Spotlight live demo on 23rd September. it's their biggest product update of the year and this is the first look at it, before any of it rolls out to customers.
Kyle Jepson, Principal Marketing Evangelist at HubSpot, is hosting it live. there's a Q&A at the end too - because seeing a demo is one thing and getting to ask "but does it do the specific weird thing my setup needs" is another.
π it's free, it's live, and I hope to see you there: https://hubs.la/Q04xc_tT0
