Over the past few months every Amazon vendor I've onboarded has been optimising

Over the past few months every Amazon vendor I've onboarded has been optimising for the wrong number.

Sales in is the only number everyone see's or talks about.

Personally I really don't want another quarter of vendors celebrating a sales/volume spike that cost/lost them money.

In Aug a brand ran a promo I should've challeneged harder than I did.

Sales up +57%, but no margin.

Why?

I checked the sales data against the margin data, sku by sku and compared the sku's against the ones they thought won vs what was making money.

The quick wins were hiding in the same 3 actions every time..

Price cuts to chase volume

Ad spend on terms already won

Promos stacked on ASINs that were already discounted

It's now corrected for Q4.

Sales tells you how much you've shifted....margin will always tell you if it was worth it.

🚀If you're an Amazon vendor who has received an urgent call from your FD/MD ahead of Q4..give me a call.
