Amazon Shipping Adds Holiday Parcel Surcharges

► Amazon Shipping will apply peak-season surcharges from October 25 through January 16, 2027.

The per-package demand surcharge will be $0.50, increasing to $0.75 from November 22 through December 26.

► Additional surcharges can be significantly higher, reaching $11.90 for additional handling, $117.50 for large packages, and $590 for extra-heavy packages during the peak period.

→ Bigger Picture Signal

With USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Amazon Shipping all increasing holiday shipping costs, Q4 shipping surcharges are becoming an industrywide cost factor.

Sellers should include these fees in Q4 margin and profitability forecasts, particularly for oversized or heavy products.
