Seeing the impact of a campaign firsthand is a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
Last week, I joined the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, iHeartRadio and Bobby Bones in Bobby’s hometown of Mountain Pine, Arkansas, a community of fewer than 600 residents.
Together, we surprised Mountain Pine School District with a $50,000 Reading Revolution literacy donation, more than 700 books for students and DG gift cards for classroom supplies for teachers and staff, helping invest in the next generation of learners.
As we wrap up this year's The Yellow Glasses Project, I'm grateful for the collaboration that made it possible. Through iHeartRadio, The Bobby Bones Show and The DG In-Store Radio Network, along with the support of partners like Procter & Gamble and InComm Payments, we helped amplify a mission that has now raised more than $9 million since 2020.
Ending this year’s campaign where Bobby's story began was a fitting reminder that literacy can help open doors and create opportunities in communities of every size.
