Your TikTok marketing may be more profitable than your attribution dashboard mak

Your TikTok marketing may be more profitable than your attribution dashboard makes it look.

One of the biggest mistakes I see brands make is evaluating every sales channel independently.

TikTok generated this many sales.

Amazon generated this many sales.

Therefore, they must be completely separate.

Customer behavior is not that clean.

There can be a significant halo effect between channels.

In the example discussed here, 100 sales on TikTok could be accompanied by another 30 to 40 sales on Amazon.

That matters for Amazon sellers because customers do not always purchase where they first discover a product.

Someone might see your product on TikTok, become interested, and then go directly to Amazon to search for it.

Amazon captures the sale.

TikTok helped create the demand.

If you only look at the final transaction, you could underestimate the value of the marketing that originally created the customer interest.

This also changes how I think about customer acquisition.

Amazon PPC does not have to be the only engine driving Amazon sales.

Building demand outside of Amazon can create additional traffic that eventually makes its way back to the marketplace.

That can reduce your dependence on paying for every incremental customer through Amazon advertising.

The strongest Amazon brands are not just asking, “What did this channel sell?”

They are asking, “What demand did this channel create?”

Understanding your Amazon traffic, rankings, and conversion data can help you see the bigger picture.
