There is days when I feel weird writing about AI

Today is definitely one of those.

I’ve spent the last 3 years showing up on this platform by sharing my knowledge and use cases of AI

And being excited about it.

I’ve tried to share my knowledge as a way to empower other people to become more efficient and less “AI-replaceable”.

I am excited about what AI can help with, how it has helped me learn, how it has created a whole new way of running my business.

There is a lot of exciting things about AI.

But I will lie if I say that I am never worried about AI or cynical about the way companies are using this technology without considering the human aspect of it all.

And I feel we are at a point where AI companies and governments are not necessarily taking the long term view or the responsibility for what is best for humanity as a whole.

We are talking about “winning”?

As if it’s a game…

Except the game is all of our futures

We are talking about “us” vs “them” as if we are different species living on different planets.

But all of what’s happening in terms of AI development will affect all of us.

And it’s not just about the apocalyptic scenario of AI taking over

It’s also about bad actors using AI right now in insane ways

If you don’t know what I am talking about just have a read of the Anthropic’s Detecting and countering misuse of AI: September 2026 report.

That’s not hypothetical. It’s already happening.

And so yes, I will resume showing up and talking about all the awesome ways AI can help ecom professionals be more efficient

But today I just feel like raising the question

Are we okay with the direction and speed of travel?

I am not really sure I am

Curious how everyone feels?
