Yorkshire Three Peaks: done. 24 miles, three summits, three trig point selfies with everyone looking suspiciously cheerful given the circumstances.
The forecast said "changeable." What we actually got was horizontal rain and 50mph winds trying to actively remove us from the hills. All waterproof gear failed and soaked to the skin 2 hours in. It was, and I say this with love for the Yorkshire countryside, f***ing horrible.
We knuckled down and finished in 10 hours 55 minutes, which I'm choosing to interpret as a good time given the weather was actively trying to kill the pace (and maybe us).
Massive credit to the team, Rose, Emily and Jonathan, for not once suggesting we just go to the pub instead (OK, maybe once), despite several very reasonable opportunities to do so.
And a proper thank you to Jason and Jonathan Kattenberg at Walking With My Bear Adventures for getting us round in one piece and keeping morale up when the wind had other ideas.
All in aid of The Light Fund, who do brilliant work and deserve every penny raised on a day like Saturday.
Next up: Everest Base Camp. After Saturday, altitude sickness feels like the easy part.
