Canada is providing more than $2 billion in new support to Ukraine, including more than $1 billion for defence – Patriot missiles, F-16 munitions and drone co-production. Canada is also seeking additional Patriot interceptors and will provide further defence deliveries. We deeply appreciate this support.
We also thank Canada for its readiness to contribute technology to the European FREYJA anti-ballistic missile programme and for preparing new sanctions against Russia, including measures to make it harder for Russia to produce ballistic missiles.
Canada is also supporting Ukraine’s energy sector ahead of winter, strengthening cooperation in the energy sector, and contributing to humanitarian initiatives, including for Ukrainian veterans as part of programmes for the Veterans Fund.
