Amazon quietly shipped something most sellers have never heard of.
It connects your Seller Central account straight to Claude or ChatGPT on your computer.
You type "which SKUs sold the most last week" and it answers. From your real data. No exports, no spreadsheets, no Business Reports tab.
The part people don't believe at first: it's free. Not a 14-day trial. Amazon built it and gives it away. It runs on your own machine, so there's no monthly fee and no third-party app sitting between you and Amazon.
You do need Claude or ChatGPT to talk to it. ChatGPT needs a paid plan. Claude's free plan works fine, so this can cost you nothing at all.
I've set it up for 16 people now. MDS members, friends, even folks who actually work at Amazon.
The reaction is always the same. They ask their first question, the answer comes back with their own ASINs in it, and there's about three seconds of silence.
The catch: setup is a pain. You register as an Amazon developer, create your own app, copy some keys, and edit a config file. None of it is hard. There are just a lot of places to get stuck.
The first one took me six hours. My record is now 19 minutes. Most land around 30 or 40.
That's why I get on Zoom and do it with people instead of sending a guide.
What it handles well:
Sales and units by day, charted
Fee breakdowns per ASIN
Which listings have errors right now
Pricing and buy box status
Order detail without pulling a report
Key limit worth saying out loud. It runs on the one computer we set it up on, not your phone.
So why do it for free?
This is moving fast. It's going to reshape what Amazon agencies do for a living. I run one. I'd rather be in the middle of it than watch it happen.
The 16 conversations have been the best part. What people ask it first, what they try next, what they go build after I hang up. You don't get that from reading about it.
I have no idea how this shakes out. But down the road, when you think about Amazon and AI, I'd like you to think of me.
