Amazon sellers spend too much time asking if a market is competitive and not enough time asking why customers would choose them.

A market having established brands doesn't automatically make it a bad opportunity.

Golf is a perfect example. It's a legacy industry filled with brands that have decades of recognition and customer loyalty.

Yet new brands can still enter and create significant value.

The opportunity comes from understanding the customer deeply enough to identify what they want that the existing market isn't giving them.

That's the distinction Amazon sellers need to understand.

You don't necessarily need to take the entire market from a major competitor.

You need to identify a specific customer, understand what they're searching for, and build a product and brand that gives them a compelling reason to choose you.

That's also where keyword research becomes more than SEO.

Search data can tell you how customers describe their problems, what they're looking for, and where opportunities exist to position something differently.

Competition isn't always the reason to stay out of a market.

Sometimes it's proof that there's a valuable customer worth understanding.

What legacy category do you think is ready for disruption?
