I met an Amazon seller at Ecom Mastery AI in Nashville who said one sentence that stuck with me.
We were standing near the entrance the morning after my talk. He looks at me and goes:
"Kamal, You've noticed it too, right? Manage Experiments tests start performing better after week two."
Yes. Absolutely yes.
I'd been seeing it for years but never said it out loud because I didn't have "proof." Just a pattern I trusted.
Here's the pattern:
If a test is 50/50 in the first two weeks, it's going to win.
If it's losing by a small margin, it's still probably going to win over the next month or two.
Why? Because the buying cycle isn't instant.
People search. They find your product. They're not ready to buy yet. Maybe they just make a mental note. Then they come back a few days later to actually purchase.
But if your main image changed in that window? They might not recognize it as the same product. "Wait, this looks different." They don't click. You lose a buyer who had already decided.
That lag is why the first two weeks lie to you.
So here's what's in it for you:
Don't kill your experiments in the first two weeks unless you're losing by a big margin.
If it's flat or slightly behind by week two or three, give it room. It gets better.
I've watched it happen over and over and over again.
The data catches up to the decision buyers already made.
