Here's what you could do:
Post a job on LinkedIn. Receive hundreds of candidates. Battle with LinkedIn direct messages. Keep jumping from doing your actual job to sitting on LinkedIn messaging people. Get lost of who is actually good and who might be faking it. Try throwing profiles into AI to solve it faster. Go back to doing your day job again for a bit and forget about it for a few days. Come back to see a lot more candidates have applied and you now have a lot of messages to reply to. Start feeling incredibly overwhelmed. Create a Google form and just start sending people the link to apply to that instead. Go back and do your day job for a bit. Realize 3 weeks have passed. Some interviews have booked in. But they were awful. Good on paper, bad in person. Increase your daily budget on LinkedIn. Receive even more messages. Go back to your day job. Get overwhelmed again. Hire a generalist recruiter. Pay upfront fee. Wait one week. Get some good talent CVs through, which are way overpriced. Book a couple of interviews. Realise they're not a fit. And lack confidence that they can back up their claims. Feel overwhelmed. Realise you've spent far too many hours on this job now. And your own job has suffered.
Hand in your resignation as you feel you've let the entire company down and wasted their time and money.
