Amazon PPC in 2026: my honest predictions, no crystal ball required.

People ask me to predict the future of Amazon PPC a lot, and I always give the same answer: I can't see next year with certainty, but I can see where the pressure is already building. Trends don't appear out of nowhere, they show up as small cracks first, and if you're paying attention to accounts every day like I am, you can watch them widen months before everyone else calls them "the new trend."

Here's what I'm watching, and what I'd bet on for 2026.

AI-driven bidding stops being optional. Manual bid management is already losing to automated systems that react in real time instead of once a day. That's not new. What's new is the gap widening — sellers still adjusting bids by hand aren't just slower, they're competing against algorithms that never sleep and never get tired. By 2026, "I do this manually" won't be a badge of control. It'll be a handicap.

Retail media gets crowded, and efficiency wins over reach. More sellers are pouring more budget into Amazon Ads every year, which means the same placements are getting more expensive, not less. The sellers who win in 2026 won't be the ones spending the most, they'll be the ones squeezing the most signal out of every dollar. Blended ACoS numbers are going to stop being good enough.

Placement-level, keyword-level, hour-level precision is going to separate the winners from everyone still looking at one summary metric and wondering why nothing adds up.

Search term data becomes more valuable, not less. As match types keep evolving and Amazon keeps making broad match "smarter," the raw signal of what customers actually type is going to matter more, not less. The sellers who treat search term reports as a chore to skim once a month are going to keep losing quietly to the ones who treat it as the single richest research tool sitting free in their account.

Creative and copy testing catches up to bid testing. For years, everyone obsessed over bids and structure while treating images and copy as a "set once" decision. That's changing. I think 2026 is the year creative testing becomes as standard as bid testing already is because two identical campaigns with different creative can produce wildly different conversion rates, and sellers are finally starting to notice.

None of this is a magic prediction. It's just paying close attention to what's already happening at the edges of accounts I look at every single day, and betting that the edge becomes the center. That's really all forecasting ever is.

What do you think I'm missing? I'd genuinely like to hear what you're seeing in your own accounts.
