The most expensive mistake an Amazon seller can make is taking Seller Support or Account Health reps literally, or at their word.
If you've been selling on Amazon long enough, you know their support system speaks its own dialect, but taking that dialect literally could cost you thousands in lost revenue.
Amazon reps are incentivized to give you AN answer, not THE answer.
And often, it could be ANY answer, which doesn't move you forward.
Behind the curtain, what is going on?
Well, internal teams are overloaded, appeals get misrouted, and automated bots issue instant rejections before a human even opens your PDF.
Here is what Amazon internal responses actually mean behind the words:
"Wait 72 hours while we review."
Translation: "This case is sitting in a queue, and we need to hit our response time SLA today."
"Your appeal has been forwarded to the dedicated team."
Translation: "It was routed to a general queue, and the person who opened it didn't have the permissions to clear it."
"We have verified the decision is correct."
Translation: "An automated system scanned two keywords and matched a standard rejection template."
"We've escalated this internally."
That could mean almost anything, and I have decided they toss that word around just to placate the listener in most cases.
Often, the answer that comes back is the same, lacking details, lacking guidance, and lacking any managerial or higher-level reviews.
Let's all stop counting on lower-tier responses to provide insights, OK?
This goes on and on, every day, without stopping, like a runaway train.
When you realize you're playing a game of scripted ping-pong, stop sending the same appeals. Show us: we have extra pairs of eyes!
Don't let boilerplate text keep your hero ASIN offline. Verify everything, push back on soft answers, and keep receipts/ submit real escalations.
