I recommend using Fable5 or Opus to inspect and correct your root claude.md file on a weekly basis. I was in a mastermind with AI Society and one of the most experienced members brought this up. Turns out I've been burning about 6k tokens with stale and bloated context on EVERY new session.
The prompt was simple (using Fable5):
Review my root claude.md and tell me if you think it is bloated and therefore costing more tokens than needed to ensure complete accuracy and give me a plan for fixing this.
