A lot of Amazon vendors are considering restructuring..
Bringing capability in house.
Changing agencies.
Hiring Amazon specific roles for the first time.
And I bet you they're making the same mistake.
Restructuring before they know what the real issue is.
I've seen brands hire a Head of Amazon to fix a margin problem that was actually a terms problem.
Bring in a new agency to fix a sales problem that was actually a CRAP risk problem.
Build an in house ads team to fix a sales problem that was actually a assortment problem...too many low margin sku's being defended with ad spend that couldn't support the investment.
The structure doesn't fix the problem if you haven't diagnosed the problem in the first place.
That's what a commercial performance audit is for.
Before you restructure your Amazon team...
Know your real net margin by ASIN.
Know where Coop is working and where it isn't.
Know your chargeback root causes.
Know which sku's deserve investment.
Build the commercial picture first.
Then build the team around it.
What triggered the last change you made to your Amazon team structure...and did it fix what you thought it would?
