Amazon isn't your retail partner.

Amazon isn't your retail partner.

It's your most demanding customer with its own P&L, its own margin targets, and a very clear idea of how to improve them at your cost.

I'm seeing the same thing across vendor businesses right now.

Sales are flat or declining.

Costs are up.

The gap between what vendors invoice and what they actually make is getting wider.

Co-op commitments that haven't been challenged since they were agreed.

Cost price reduction requests dressed up as partnership conversations.

Promotional funding that improves Amazon's Net PPM..not yours.

Chargebacks creeping up while teams are too busy to fix the root cause.

None of this is accidental.

Amazon is running a commercial model that works extraordinarily well....for Amazon.

The vendors who protect margin in that environment aren't the ones with the best relationship.

They're the ones who understand exactly how Amazon makes money from them and build a commercial strategy around that reality.

What's the single biggest cost Amazon is adding to your business right now that you haven't properly challenged?
