Amazon PPC is a balancing act.

Amazon PPC is a balancing act.

Not a “lower the bid every time ACoS looks bad” game.

Because lowering CPCs creates a chain reaction.

Lower CPCs.

Lower impressions.

Lower velocity.

More pressure on ranking.

That’s why you need to know what problem you’re solving before you touch the bid.

You’re looking for the intersection between:

Good shopper behavior metrics

And good business economic metrics

Strong conversion rates matter.

Lower cost per click matters.

Impressions matter.

Velocity matters.

Ranking matters.

They all pull on each other.

So when something is not working, don’t jump straight to the bid.

Ask what actually needs fixing.

Is the CPC too high?

Then lowering the CPC may be the answer.

Is the conversion rate weak?

Then you need to fix conversion rate.

And if you’re using auto campaigns, broad match campaigns, or category targeting…

Start with the search terms.

Which search terms are dragging down conversion rate?

Are you targeting things that don’t work?

For exact match, it may be even simpler:

The product might not be strong on that search.

That’s the difference between changing bids…

And actually managing PPC.
