The best PPC audit starts outside the ad account.

The best PPC audit starts outside the ad account.
Because the ad account is usually where the symptoms show up.
Not where the problem started.
A pet brand came to us with a simple complaint:
"Our Sponsored Products stopped working."
ACOS had moved from 24% to 39% in six weeks.
The campaigns looked messy, but not catastrophic.
Bids were a little high.
Search terms needed cleaning.
Budget allocation was not perfect.
But none of that explained the drop.
Then we looked at the listing.
Two things had changed:
→ A competitor launched a 2-pack at the same price
→ The hero image no longer made the pack size obvious
The ads were still bringing the right shopper.
The listing was losing the comparison.
We fixed the image stack before touching bids.
Changes:
→ Main secondary image showed quantity clearly
→ Comparison chart moved above brand story
→ Bullet one changed from feature language to value-per-use
→ Competitor ASIN targeting creative shifted to pack-size proof
ACOS improved before the bid rebuild was finished.
That is not magic.
That is conversion rate doing its job.
PPC does not operate in isolation.
Your ads inherit every weakness in the listing.
Before you call a campaign broken, check:
→ Has the offer changed?
→ Has the competitive set changed?
→ Has the hero image aged?
→ Has the price gap widened?
→ Has the review gap changed?
Sometimes the campaign is fine.
The shelf changed.
