Did Prime Day wear out its original welcome?

Did Prime Day wear out its original welcome?
Are there too many Prime Days to go around? What, in short, went wrong?
Well, for numerous brands, nothing went wrong at all, shoppers were just hunting harder for discounts and spent less per item.
For others, they didn't sell as much, as the right prices, as they had to.
Let's face it, this year isn't last year! Check it, I'm right.
This year was a lot harder for any brand facing diminishing revenue/ return on their ASINs.
Yet, Amazon still saw a massive spike in sales activity, as expected.
Some brands that skimped on ad spend in previous months or who failed to resolve ASIN-level issues (of all kinds, not just restrictions) encountered major roadblocks.
It'll take time to recover from that, Q4 is a long ways off. But, lessons were learned (I hope.)
Others, of course, faced flat-out brand and listing abuse, forced to submit appeals for "ghost violations" that made no sense:
Like, for example, "Selling in the wrong category" (Huh? We've been in this category for years.)
Or "Harming another seller" (Real or imaginary accusations weren't vetted well pre-Prime Day.)
Or "Infringing upon intellectual property" (Again, we saw both the real and the imaginary.)
Whatever emergencies may have popped up, appealing during Prime Week is a nightmare.
You need the right eyeballs on your appeal fast, and you need someone who actually knows what they’re looking at.
In fact, not much was easy this year. We know abuse and compliance problems were bad, but we see that every day.
What did you see? Was it good, bad, ugly, or are you indifferent, just treating it as another welcome sales spike? Let us know by commenting, DM me or message me on Whatsapp at 617-319-8767.
